The Emotion Code®
Ever felt like your reaction was bigger than the moment?
Have you ever said “I’m fine” when you weren’t? Perhaps you held back your tears because everyone needed you to be strong. Or a comment embarrassed you, so you laughed it off and got on with your day.
We don’t always have the time or space to feel what happened. Sometimes we simply have to carry on.
The Emotion Code®, developed by Dr Bradley Nelson, is an energy-based method built around the idea that emotions we haven’t fully processed can become trapped anywhere in the body and energy field, even when the experience itself is long behind us.
Think about those moments when a small situation brings up a much bigger feeling. Someone takes a while to reply, and you start wondering whether you’ve upset them. You want to say no, but guilt arrives before you’ve even spoken.
Sometimes these reactions sit alongside beliefs we’ve developed about ourselves, such as I’m not good enough, my needs don’t matter or people always leave. Over time, those beliefs can begin to feel like facts, even when they aren’t.
What if letting go doesn’t mean forgetting?
The aim isn’t to erase an experience or pretend it didn’t happen. It’s about identifying and releasing the emotional energy that may still be connected to it.
I work remotely to identify and release trapped emotions that may be relevant to what you’re experiencing. You don’t need to relive painful memories or tell me every detail of your past for us to work together.
Sometimes the changes people notice are subtle. Something may no longer carry the same emotional charge. A familiar situation may feel different. Or you may notice that you’re responding differently where you once reacted automatically.
Sometimes moving forward isn’t about trying harder to change ourselves.
Sometimes it’s about releasing some of what we’ve been carrying.
Emotional Baggage and the Subconscious
What if some of what you’re carrying isn’t consciously visible?
We remember some of the experiences that have shaped us. But other emotional experiences and beliefs sit beneath our conscious awareness.
Your mind may forget, but your body remembers.
The subconscious holds an extraordinary amount of information. It influences our automatic reactions, emotional responses, habits and patterns — often without us consciously recognising why we feel or respond the way we do.
Think of it like software running quietly in the background, influencing how we respond to life without us always realising it.
Within the Emotion Code®, trapped emotions may originate from your own experiences, be absorbed from someone else, or be inherited through your family line.
Over time, these can become part of the emotional baggage we carry.
Buried Doesn’t Mean Gone
Beneath everything we’ve taken on, we can lose touch with parts of who we really are.
But I believe those parts of us are still there — our ability to give and receive love, our confidence, our dreams, our potential and our connection to ourselves and others.
We don’t necessarily need to become someone new. Sometimes we simply need the space to reconnect with what’s already there.
The Six Types of Trapped Emotions
Where do the emotions we carry come from?
Have you ever wondered whether everything you’re carrying actually began with you? Within the Emotion Code®, trapped emotions are identified in six different ways.
Common emotions
Perhaps you felt humiliated at school or deeply hurt by something a friend said. Everyone else moved on, but that moment still seems to have a hold on you. Within this approach, some of the emotional energy from that experience may still be carried.
Absorbed emotions
Have you ever noticed how someone else’s mood can affect your own? Perhaps you walk into a room and sense that something isn’t quite right, or spend time around someone who’s going through a difficult period. Within the Emotion Code, we may sometimes absorb emotional energy from people in our proximity without consciously realising it.
Shared emotions
Imagine two people receiving the same upsetting news at the same moment and both feeling grief. Within this framework, they may form a shared trapped emotion connected to that experience.
Inherited emotions
Have you ever noticed a fear or sadness that feels strangely familiar, yet you can’t connect it to anything you’ve experienced yourself? Within the Emotion Code, an emotion may sometimes be identified as having been passed down through your family line, even from an ancestor you never knew.
Prenatal emotions
Imagine a mother going through a particularly stressful or upsetting time during pregnancy. Within this approach, a baby may absorb emotional energy from the mother, or potentially from someone in close proximity to her, while developing in the womb.
Preconception emotions
This one goes back even further. The Emotion Code describes rare emotions believed to have become trapped in the energy body, or spirit, before conception — before our physical lives began.
We may not always know where an emotion began. What matters is exploring whether it may still be affecting us today.
How Sessions Work
Gentle. Remote. Personal to You.
All sessions are currently carried out remotely through proxy work, which means you don’t need to attend a call or be online while I carry out your session.
You can receive your session wherever you are in the world.
Book and complete a short intake form
Choose your session, tell me a little about who it’s for and any area you’d like to focus on — or simply let your subconscious guide what is ready to come forward. Then pay securely by PayPal.
Identifying and releasing
Using muscle testing, I connect by proxy and work with your subconscious to identify and release trapped emotions. Where relevant, I may also identify and clear limiting beliefs.
Your written summary
After your session, you’ll receive a written summary of what came forward and what was released, together with guidance for the processing period that follows.
I believe we each have an innate capacity to reconnect with ourselves and move towards healing.
Healing isn’t something another person simply gives us. My role is to support your own healing process by helping identify and release what may be getting in the way.
Ready to release what’s holding you back?
Identify. Release. Rise.
